The Quality Control Technician is responsible for assisting with the inspection, testing, and verification of products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure they meet established quality standards and customer specifications. This role reports to the Quality Control Supervisor and involves working closely with production and engineering teams to identify defects and ensure that products are manufactured to the highest quality. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and committed to maintaining high-quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Conduct visual inspections to identify defects or deviations from specifications.
- Record and document inspection results, including measurements, defects, and maintain records of defective products and input data into quality management system.
- Prepare and maintain detailed quality reports and logs for review by the Quality Control Supervisor.
- Identify and report non-conforming products or materials to the Quality Control Supervisor.
- Assist in segregating and labeling non-conforming products for further analysis or rework.
- Ensure that products meet internal and external quality standards, as well as customer requirements.
- Follow established quality control procedures and protocols to maintain consistency and accuracy in inspections.
- Conduct Lean 5S audits, time studies, and evaluate production flow based on data collected.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to implement corrective actions to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Assist in the routine maintenance and calibration of inspection equipment and tools to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Assist in conducting quality and safety audits to verify compliance with company policies.
- Participate in team meetings and provide feedback on potential areas for quality improvement.
- Stay updated on quality control techniques and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality control environment is required.
- Some college coursework in a technical field, such as manufacturing technology, engineering, or quality control, is a plus.
- Basic understanding of quality control principles and inspection techniques is preferred.
- Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges is a plus.
- Capable of reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications is desirable.
- Maintain industry standard quality certifications* as required and engage in on- the-job training to learn quality control practices, standards, and tools.
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving and precision in performing inspections.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and follow instructions.
- Basic proficiency in using computers and office software (e.g., Google, MS Office).
- Experience with quality management software is a plus.
- Good manual dexterity and visual acuity for detailed inspections.
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

- American Society for Quality (ASQ) including the following:
- Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA): Offers a foundation in quality improvement processes and methodologies.
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification: Provides knowledge in process improvement and quality management which is instrumental for leading continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Type: Full-time; Hourly
Schedule: 8 hour shift | Monday to Friday | Overtime
Typical hours are Monday - Friday, 6:30am-3:00pm.
