What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver-laundry/shuttle position at Split Rock Hotel?
Overview:
This position will require a motivated individual that will do daily runs loading and unloading the linens for the Resort. Also, they will act as the shuttle driver. At times the individual will drive the interstate no more than 90 miles.
Responsibilities:
- Drives truck to transport and deliver Linen and Resorts materials
- Maintains telephone contact with supervisor to receive instructions
- Keeps record of materials and products transported
- Cleans, inspects, and services vehicle
- Operates equipment on vehicle to load, unload, or disperse items
- Assists in loading and unloading truck manually
- Performs pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection of vehicle
- Follows all appropriate traffic laws
- Reports serious mechanical problems to the manager
- Sitting for long periods of time
- Job tasks are performed in close physical proximity to other people
- Load, unload, materials, or products multiple times a day
Qualifications:
- Previous driving experience required including box trucks or commercial vehicles.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior hospitality or customer service industry experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
A valid driver’s license paired with an acceptable driving record is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the laundry shuttle driver is regularly required to run/jog, stand, talk, and hear.
The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to walk, run, stoop, and kneel.
The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
