At SPL, we turn science into impact. We’re searching for a detail-oriented Sample Management Technician to join our laboratory team in Commerce City, CO. In this role, you’ll handle the intake, documentation, and organization of environmental samples to support compliance and decision-making. From logging samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to overseeing storage and distribution, your work ensures accuracy, efficiency, and integrity across the lab.

What You’ll Do

• Receive and document samples from clients, couriers, shipping, laboratory, and/or field staff;
• Verify that all samples meet condition standards and comply with organizational policies, quality requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines;
• Accurately record sample information, details, and required analyses in laboratory software system;
• Label, organize, and distribute samples to appropriate personnel in a timely manner;
• Maintain orderly and secure sample storage areas and oversee the proper placement, retrieval, and disposal of samples in accordance with established protocols;
• Prepare sample kits and manage outbound shipments as required;
• Provide assistance to colleagues and support related operational functions, including inventory management, supply preparation, and general support activities;
• Perform other duties as assigned.
  
  

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required;
• Basic computer skills, including database and spreadsheet entry;
• Strong recordkeeping skills with attention to detail;
• Effective organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to perform under pressure;

Your Schedule and The Fine Print

• Full-time position following a standard Monday-Friday schedule;
• Must be able to work outside of scheduled hours, including evenings or weekends, as required to meet operational or workload needs.
