We’re seeking an experienced Senior Lab Analyst to join our team and play a key role in the commissioning and startup of an exciting new liquefied natural gas (LNG) laboratory operation in Port Arthur, TX.

This is a unique opportunity to help build and establish a laboratory from the ground up. You’ll contribute to critical startup activities including laboratory readiness, implementation of analytical workflows and operating procedures, instrumentation setup and troubleshooting, process standardization, and development of effective day-to-day laboratory practices. As the operation progresses, you’ll help shape the technical systems, processes, and standards that support safe, accurate, efficient, and reliable laboratory performance while helping transition the lab from commissioning and startup into a fully established 24/7/365 operating environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Support workflow implementation, equipment setup, and operational startup activities during laboratory commissioning
  • Perform advanced sample preparation, analytical testing, and quality control activities supporting laboratory operations
  • Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and analytical equipment
  • Review, document, and interpret analytical data and results in LIMS
  • Identify and resolve analytical issues, including data anomalies, out-of-control conditions, instrument problems, and non-routine testing concerns
  • Provide day-to-day technical guidance and workflow support to laboratory personnel to promote consistent, efficient, and reliable laboratory operations
  • Provide technical guidance, workflow support, training, and mentoring to laboratory personnel on analytical methods, instrumentation, quality requirements, and troubleshooting
  • Support workload prioritization, workflow coordination, and daily laboratory operations in partnership with laboratory leadership
  • Assist with the development, revision, and implementation of SOPs, analytical workflows, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support quality assurance activities, including audits, investigations, corrective actions, and other quality system requirements
  • Provide technical support related to sample intake, analytical services, and client inquiries, as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline
  • 3 years of progressive, hands-on analytical laboratory experience within liquefied natural gas (LNG), natural gas, hydrocarbon, petrochemical, or other energy-related laboratory environments
  • Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership, training, mentoring, workflow coordination, or team lead support
  • Strong hands-on experience with operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting analytical instrumentation, including gas chromatographs (GCs), total sulfur analyzers, and automatic titrators
  • Proven experience supporting audits, investigations, corrective actions, and process improvement initiatives in a regulated laboratory environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and LIMS

Work Schedule & Environment

  • Full-time, onsite position
  • Initial commissioning and startup schedule (~ 3-4 months): Monday - Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating day or night shifts, including weekends and holidays, once 24/7/365 operations begin

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation
  • Annual reviews with consideration for performance-based increases
  • Opportunities for career growth and advancement
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Employer-paid life, AD&D, and disability insurance
  • Paid time off, sick leave, and paid holidays
  • Paid parental leave
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Tuition reimbursement and professional development support
