Position Title: Lease Admin Analyst - Summer Intern
Location: North Syracuse, NY
Duration: June 3rd – August 7th, Full time – 40 hours/week.

Compensation: $16/hour
Reports To: Supervisor of Lease Administration
Hours of Operation: 8am – 5pm; Mon - Fri

Position Summary:
The Lease Admin Analyst Summer Intern will support the Lease Administration team in managing and analyzing lease agreements and the revenue process. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to develop key analytical, administrative, and financial skills while gaining hands-on experience in retail real estate and lease management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cash Application Support:Assistwith the application of cash payments for assigned properties, gaining an understanding of the Accounts Receivable process.
- Accounts ReceivableManagement:Help resolve outstanding receivables by ensuring the accuracy and completeness of records.
- Clause Abstraction:Review and extract key terms from lease documents, ensuring accuracy in recording andmaintainingcritical lease information.
- DataManagement:Assistwith tenant contact updates, organizing miscellaneous receipts, and verifying insurance clauses for compliance.
- Tenant Communication:Respond to tenant inquiriesregardinglease terms, conditions, and obligations, providing exceptional customer service.
- Monthly Processes:Contribute to various monthly tasks, including managing defaults, commercial billing, percentage-in-lieu(PIL) processes, and conducting rent roll audits.
- Process Improvement Projects:Participatein process improvement initiatives, analyzing and suggesting ways to improve lease administration efficiency and workflow.
- Tenant ActivityManagement:Gain exposure to Tenant Activity Notices (TANs), supporting the lease administration team in handling and processing these notices.
Capstone Project
As part of the internship, you will complete a capstone project:
Property Co-Tenancy Audit Project
- Audit lease clauses for co-tenancy-related policies at assigned properties.
- Review and verify tenancy data for accuracy and compliance with lease terms.
- Evaluate co-tenancy infractions based on specific lease language.
- Synthesize findings into a standardized Property Co-Tenancy Guide or Toolkit to support the lease administration team in future audits.
Requirements:
- Must be enrolled in a college degree program
- Must have completed Sophomore year of college
- Must be able to work onsite in North Syracuse, NY
- Must have a GPA of 3.0 or above
- Ability to work40 hours per week
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Desired Characteristics:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience or coursework in real estate is a plus but not required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
