SpineSearch is partnering with a growing Orthopedic Spine practice on the Upper East Side of Manhattan who is seeking a Patient Referral Coordinator to serve as the primary point of contact for new patient inquiries and referrals. This individual will play a critical role in facilitating patient access to care by coordinating referrals, scheduling appointments, and ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for new patients.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage incoming new patient inquiries via phone, email, and referral sources.
- Review and process patient referrals from physicians, hospitals, healthcare providers, and insurance networks.
- Coordinate and schedule new patient appointments with orthopedic spine physicians and providers.
- Gather and verify patient demographics, insurance information, medical records, and referral documentation.
- Serve as a liaison between referring providers, patients, and the clinical team.
- Ensure all required records, imaging, and authorizations are obtained prior to appointments.
- Educate patients on appointment expectations, office policies, and required documentation.
- Track referral activity and maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Follow up with patients and referral sources to ensure timely scheduling and continuity of care.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and administrative staff to optimize patient flow and access.
- Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism in all patient interactions.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in healthcare administration, patient coordination, medical reception, referral management, or scheduling required.
- Experience in orthopedic, spine, surgical, or specialty medical practices preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage a high volume of patient inquiries.
- Familiarity with EMR systems and medical terminology.
- Knowledge of insurance verification and referral processes preferred.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard office software.
Salary : $55,000 - $60,000
