Spike Brewing designs and manufactures premium stainless-steel brewing equipment for homebrewers and craft-brewing customers. Our Blackwood operation combines welding, mechanical assembly, product preparation, testing, inventory management, and ecommerce fulfillment.
We are seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined Production and Warehouse Technician who can move between production support and warehouse responsibilities as workload changes.
Position summary
The Production and Warehouse Technician performs mechanical assembly, product preparation, finishing, cleaning, packaging, and general production support. The employee also assists with receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory counting.
This position is well suited to someone who enjoys working with tools, learning how products are assembled, solving practical problems, and performing a variety of hands-on tasks rather than remaining at one workstation throughout the day.
Primary responsibilities
- Perform mechanical assembly of brewing equipment and related components.
- Prepare parts, hardware, tools, and work areas for welding and assembly.
- Clean, finish, label, inspect, and package completed products.
- Perform standard product tests and quality checks using written procedures.
- Pick components and prepare complete production kits for scheduled work orders.
- Assist with receiving, inspection, put-away, and movement of incoming materials.
- Assist with picking, packing, shipment staging, and other fulfillment work.
- Assist with cycle counts and report inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain orderly workstations, tools, equipment, and warehouse areas.
- Learn basic fabrication and production tasks that can be safely delegated.
- Follow drawings, bills of material, work instructions, checklists, and quality standards.
- Stop and report work when materials, instructions, quality, or safety conditions are unclear.
- Serve as backup for routine receiving and shipping duties.
- Assist seasonal or temporary employees with standard tasks after becoming qualified.
- Support other reasonable production and warehouse duties based on daily workload.
Required qualifications
- At least one year of experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, warehouse operations, equipment service, automotive work, fabrication, maintenance, construction, or another hands-on technical environment.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort using common hand and power tools.
- Ability to follow written instructions, drawings, checklists, and quality procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to perform repetitive tasks accurately.
- Ability to shift between production, assembly, warehouse, and fulfillment responsibilities.
- Basic computer ability.
- Reliable attendance and ability to work on site during established operating hours.
- Ability to safely lift, move, stage, and handle products and materials.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience assembling mechanical products or equipment.
- Experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, metalworking, warehouse, or ecommerce-fulfillment environment.
- Experience with receiving, inventory counting, picking, packing, or shipping.
- Familiarity with brewing equipment, homebrewing, craft brewing, sanitary stainless equipment, food processing, or beverage manufacturing.
- Experience reading bills of material, assembly drawings, work orders, or parts diagrams.
- Basic fabrication, drilling, grinding, polishing, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical-repair experience.
- Forklift, pallet-jack, or material-handling experience.
- Experience using an ERP, inventory system, or shipping system.
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
