POSITION OVERVIEW 

The Design Intern will work directly with all members of the design, drafting and engineering team to gain a comprehensive hands-on experience in mechanical engineering design and drafting.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES 

• Manufacturing Facility: Learn what it is like to work in a modern-day manufacturing facility, how to excel in a fast-paced work environment and the general production flow.
• Time Management: Learn how to establish strong time-management skills.
• Office Flow: Learn the general office flow from sale to shipment.
• SolidWorks: Learn how to use SolidWorks solid modeling software to design structurally sound and efficient products.
• Blueprints: Learn to read, create and apply blueprints in building our product.
• Quality Control: Learn to identify quality issues and how to integrate quality into the final product.
• Perform other duties necessary to achieve our vision, fulfill our purpose, and live out our values.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Be a sophomore, junior, senior, or recent graduate of high school (must be 16 or older)
• Have the ability to abide by Spika company policies and procedures 
• Have the ability to follow directions
• Have the ability to work safely
• Show enthusiasm
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn 
• Have the ability to participate effectively as a member of a team
• Have time management skills
• Have basic math skills

WORKING CONDITIONS

The position works mostly indoors with exposure to moderate-to-loud noise. This can be a physically demanding job. Must have the ability to lift 10-25 pounds.

Salary : $20 - $25
