Compensation: $31-39/hour (negotiable based on experience)
Location: Must be based in Colorado.
- In-person or hybrid (preferred): 2-3 days in the downtown Denver office or at field sites, remainder of week remote.
- Remote: Fully remote within Colorado, reporting to the Denver office.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, compile, and evaluate hydrogeologic data using analytical and numerical methods for analysis and reporting
- Develop or assist in developing conceptual and numerical groundwater models using industry-standard software and/or coding
- Contribute to field program tasks such as lithologic logging, aquifer testing, water level monitoring, and water quality sampling
- Compile and evaluate water quality data with statistical analyses, prepare tables and graphs for reporting
- Accurately document progress, results, and conclusions to share with project managers
- Assist project managers in communicating project results to clients.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project milestones
- Actively participate in team meetings and present findings as needed
- Ensure tasks comply with company policies, safety standards, and scientific best practices
Education and Experience
- B.S./B.A. or higher in Geology, Hydrology, Environmental Science, or a related field (Master’s Degree preferred)
- 1 to 8 years of experience in environmental/engineering consulting
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Earth, and GIS (ArcGIS Pro/QGIS). Working knowledge of scripting languages (Python, R) and groundwater modeling (MODFLOW, Groundwater Vistas) preferred. Experience with geochemical modeling programs such as PHREEQC or Geochemist’s Workbench is desirable.
- Data and Reporting: Experience processing complex datasets and translating findings into clear technical reports, graphs, and figures.
- Applied Science: Strong background in analytical problem-solving. Previous experience with field experiments/projects, water quality analysis, numerical modeling, and/or hydrogeologic research strongly preferred.
