Electronics QA & Support Technician
Pay Rate: $32-37/hr
Duration: T-P (Temp-to-Perm, ~6 months)
Location: Fremont, CA
Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (with a ½ hour lunch)
Reports Directly To: Electronics Supervisor/Lead
Job Summary
The Electronics PCB Repair Technician is responsible for performing quality assurance and inspection on all electrical equipment, and assisting with repairs and reconditioning as needed. We are seeking a well-prepared and physically capable candidate with a genuine interest in this specific role. The ideal candidate will be a reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented individual with solid troubleshooting and repair skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform QA and inspection on incoming electrical items to ensure product specifications are met.
- Repair and recondition incoming items, including PCB boards.
- Troubleshoot, test, diagnose, and repair printed circuit boards (PCBs).
- Assemble cables, including multi-pin DC power cables.
- Handle high-powered industrial vacuums, capable of withstanding up to 7500 volts.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all safety protocols.
- Report any irregularities, unsafe situations, or injuries to the supervisor immediately.
- Complete ancillary department-related tasks as required.
Required Skills & Abilities
We are looking for a candidate with a strong foundational knowledge of electronics. Candidates must be able to identify key components and understand schematics.
- Aptitude with electrical/electronic components: Must be able to identify components like capacitors, diodes, and resistors on blueprints and schematic diagrams.
- Solid diagnostic and troubleshooting skills: Experience with troubleshooting, testing, and diagnosing electrical and PCB board issues.
- Quality soldering skills: Proven experience with high-quality soldering.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams/schematics: Must possess knowledge and expertise in using electrical formulas.
- Cable assembly experience: Proficiency in assembling various types of cables.
- Physical capability: Must be able to lift fifty pounds unassisted and fifty-one-plus pounds with assistance. Fine motor skills are essential for handling small components and soldering.
