Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to oversee and manage the bidding process for various electrical construction projects, primarily focusing on multi-family homes and apartment complexes. This position requires a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with a strong background in electrical construction and estimating, as well as experience with pricing and bidding for diverse projects such as schools and hospitals. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of relevant experience and a proven ability to manage a small team of estimators while reviewing and finalizing bids.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the estimation process for electrical bids on multi-family home projects, with an emphasis on apartment complexes (open to potentially someone with a background in schools and/or hospitals).
Review, analyze, and finalize electrical construction bids, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client specifications.
Lead and mentor a small team of 2–3 estimators, ensuring all team members contribute effectively and maintain high standards.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to gather the necessary information for accurate estimates.
Ensure that all bids are submitted on time, within budget, and meet company quality standards.
Travel locally to project sites to assess scope of work and gather on-site information for accurate estimates.
Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery of materials.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, code changes, and new technologies to provide innovative solutions for electrical construction projects.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical estimating, with a strong background in multi-family homes or similar large-scale commercial projects (apartments, schools, hospitals).
Must have experience preparing estimates for commercial or multifamily projects of at least $5 million or more.
Prior experience with Live Count or similar takeoff software is strongly preferred; candidates who have done manual takeoffs may not be considered ideal.
Strong experience with pricing, bidding, and cost estimation for electrical construction projects.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to oversee and guide a team of estimators.
In-depth knowledge of electrical construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Self-starter with a proactive attitude and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured by the company.Must be located in the area; relocation candidates will not be considered.
Additional Information:
Local travel to project sites as required.
The position is based on-site or in the office, and remote work is not available.
The interview process will consist of a phone or video screening with Elodia, followed by an in-person interview with the hiring manager and potentially the company president.
