What we are looking for:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED (Must be able to provide proof)
- Valid Drivers license
- Willing to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
- Knowledge of fundamental automotive technologies
- Minimum of 2 years of previous experience
- Knowledge of basic vehicle systems, on-board controls, engine performance, transmission, ABS, and SIR modules
Preferred:
- Two-year associate degree in automotive technology or equivalent training/experience
- Automotive technology certifications/trainings
What you will do:
- Test New Technology: You will help develop and test new vehicle features from the initial idea through the final quality check.
- Investigate Vehicles: Use professional diagnostic tools and "reverse engineering" to figure out how different vehicle systems work.
- Hands-on Testing: You’ll run "proof of concept" tests on workbenches and inside real vehicles to make sure everything works as intended.
- Tech Research: Search the web and technical manuals to find the latest data on vehicle service instructions and data systems.
- Manage the Test Fleet: Find and get the specific vehicles needed for the team to study and test.
- Use High-Tech Tools: Use specialized vehicle computers and standard diagnostic equipment to check the quality of products.
- Apply Your Knowledge: Use your "real world" understanding of how cars work to confirm that new designs are practical and functional.
- Improve the Process: Look for and suggest new technologies or tools that can make the design and testing process better.
