We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Paint Prep Specialist to join our production team! In this role, you will prepare metal parts for painting and powder coating by carefully masking specific areas that need to remain unpainted using tape, plugs, caps, and stickers.

Key Responsibilities
- Review Parts & Blueprints: Identify surfaces, holes, pins, and threads that must stay free of paint.
- Apply Masking: Accurately apply masking tape, rubber plugs, caps, or pre-cut stickers to large batches of parts.
- Maintain Organization: Keep parts organized by customer, job number, and production order.
- Post-Paint Inspection: Remove masking materials after painting and verify protected areas stayed clean.
- Stage Products: Move completed batches safely to the paint and powder-coating staging areas.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Workstation Based: Standing at a production workstation for most of your shift.
- Repetitive Precision: Comfortable performing consistent, high-accuracy repetitive masking tasks.
- Lifting: Ability to handle parts typically weighing 5–20 lbs (team lifts available for heavier items).
- Workplace Comfort: Clean and quiet work area relative to typical welding/grinding shop floors, with adjustable workstations to minimize strain.
Safety Requirements
- Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including cut-resistant or rubber gloves.
- Follow proper lifting techniques and team-lift procedures.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and maintain open communication with team leads.
Qualifications
- High attention to detail and strong manual dexterity.
- Ability to follow visual instructions and work specs consistently.
- Reliable work ethic and commitment to quality.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, masking, assembly, or surface preparation is a plus, but entry-level candidates willing to learn are encouraged to apply!
