Overview
We are expanding our services and looking for a passionate and energetic In-Home Family Safety Specialist to join our Safe at Home team. Safe at Home is an innovative initiative focused on helping children remain safely with their families whenever possible. Through intensive, community-based services, safety planning, and ongoing family support, the program works to prevent unnecessary foster care placements while promoting child safety and family stability. This position will play a critical role in partnering with families, caregivers, DCFS, and community providers to assess needs, develop safety plans, and help families build the skills and supports necessary to create safe, stable home environments.

Primary Duties

  • Case Management: Maintain an active caseload and provide services for clients as assigned. Duties may include development of an in-home impending danger plan, coordinating outside services, attending staffings, maintaining client files, and arranging aftercare/follow-up services.
  • Service Delivery: Implement a family centered, strengths based, trauma informed plan that addresses the needs of the child and family while using their natural supports and strengths to reach goals. Duties may include developing an in-home impending danger plan, review of the impending danger plan, attending meetings including safety management meetings and developing strategies to overcome any barriers.
  • Documentation Ensure all documentation and reports are accurate and completed in a timely manner. Duties may include assessments, notes, progress and closing reports, and compliance documents.
  • Community Relations: Assist in representing the agency and advocating for needed services. Ensure collaboration and strong communication with community partners and referral sources.
  • Other: Participation in on-call rotations is required. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements: Associate's Degree in an approved field required. Must have a valid driver’s license and complete required trainings. Bachelor's Degree in an approved field or QMHP qualified per DCFS Medicaid Standards and previous experience preferred.

Miscellaneous: Must pass all pre-employment drug screens and background clearances. Must maintain the ability to transport clients per DCFS standards. Must be willing to travel and work flexible hours to meet the needs of the program. Required to work in clients’ homes and community settings.

Skills: Must be organized, able to multi-task, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, basic computer skills, and detail oriented. Must be able to interact with, and relate to, diverse groups of people.

*Exact pay commensurate with education and experience

Pay: $21.22 - $28.02 per hour
