Overview
We are expanding our services and looking for a passionate and energetic Family Support Specialist to join our new Family Advocacy Center team. The Family Advocacy Center is a community hub where individuals and families can find support, connect with resources, and participate in groups that strengthen families. This position will play a key role in supporting program staff and helping families build the skills and supports necessary to be successful.
Primary Duties
- Program Support: Assist program staff with administrative tasks. Duties may include daily office operations, maintaining client files, and managing resources.
- Service Delivery: Assist program staff with service delivery as needed. Duties may include researching resources, reviewing service delivery plans, and assisting with groups.
- Documentation: Ensure all documentation and reports are accurate and completed in a timely manner. Duties may include assisting with maintenance of data and creating files.
- Other: Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license required. Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field, 2 years experience working in social services, and experience working with community-based programs preferred.
Miscellaneous: Must pass all pre-employment drug screens and background clearances. Must maintain the ability to transport clients per DCFS standards and be able to lift/carry items weighing 15-30 lbs. Must be willing to travel and work flexible hours to meet the needs of the program.
Skills: Must be organized, able to multi-task, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, basic computer skills, and detail oriented. Must be able to interact with, and relate to, diverse groups of people. Pay: $17.05 - $18.49 per hour
