Overview
We are expanding our services and looking for a passionate and energetic Family Advocate/Caseworker to join our new Family Advocacy Center team. The Family Advocacy Center is a community hub where individuals and families can find support, connect with resources, and participate in groups that strengthen families. This position will play a critical role in partnering with families, caregivers, DCFS, and community providers to assess needs, develop individualized plans, and help families build the skills and supports necessary to be successful.
Primary Duties
- Case Management: Provide case management services for clients as assigned. Duties may include screening referrals, attending court hearings, coordinating outside services, attending staffings, and maintaining client files.
- Service Delivery: Provide direct services using the model/curriculum as identified by the program contract. Duties may include developing service plans, facilitating groups, advocacy, crisis intervention, and providing training/education.
- Documentation: Ensure all documentation and reports are accurate and completed in a timely manner. Duties may include assessments, notes, progress and closing reports, and compliance documents.
- Community Relations: Assist in representing the agency and advocating for needed services. Ensure collaboration and strong communication with community partners and referral sources.
- Other: Other duties as assigned
Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field and valid driver’s license required. Master’s Degree in a Human Services field OR 5 years of experience preferred.
Miscellaneous: Must pass all pre-employment drug screens and background clearances. Must maintain the ability to transport clients per DCFS standards. Must be willing to travel and work flexible hours to meet the needs of the program.
Skills: Must be organized, able to multi-task, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, basic computer skills, and detail oriented. Must be able to interact with, and relate to, diverse groups of people.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.10 - $27.54 per hour
