What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Based Social Worker position at Spero Family Services?
Spero is a multi-faceted social service agency that offers more than 10 programs to individuals, children, and families across the region. Our mission here at Spero is to offer hope, help and healing by providing Christ-centered human services to meet the ever-changing needs of individuals, families and communities.
Our Nurturing Families Program is geared towards equipping families with essential skills. Its primary goal is to teach positive parenting behaviors to prevent families from relapsing, reduce the rate of juvenile delinquency, and break the cycle of abuse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service Delivery: Provide in-home intervention services for families using the model/curriculum as identified by the program contract. Duties may include ensuring visits are completed in a timely manner, assisting with the implementation of parent-child groups, and assisting with the development of individualized plans for each family.
- Documentation Ensure all documentation and reports are accurate and completed in a timely manner. Duties may include assessments, notes, progress and closing reports, referral information, and demographics.
- Community Relations: Assist in representing the agency and advocating for needed services. Ensure collaboration and strong communication with community partners and referral sources.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field and a valid driver’s license required. Bachelors Degree in Social Work, experience with home visiting services, and experience working with children and families preferred.
Skills: Must be organized, able to multi-task, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, basic computer skills, and detail oriented. Must be able to interact with, and relate to, diverse groups of people.
Miscellaneous: Must pass all pre-employment drug screens and background clearances. Must be willing to travel and work flexible hours to meet the needs of the program. Required to work in clients’ homes and community settings.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.10 - $27.54 per hour
