Water & Wastewater Operations Technician
Location: Tualatin, OR (Local Candidates Only)
Employment Type: 12-Month Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 40 Hours/Week
About the Opportunity
We're seeking experienced Water & Wastewater Operations Technicians to support onsite operations at a leading advanced manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting ultrapure water (UPW) and industrial water treatment systems that support critical manufacturing operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for technicians with experience in semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other clean manufacturing environments who enjoy hands-on operations and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor ultrapure water (UPW) production systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on pumps, valves, instrumentation, membranes, and treatment equipment.
- Monitor system performance and respond to alarms.
- Conduct water quality sampling and analysis.
- Perform startup, shutdown, and routine operational procedures.
- Follow LOTO procedures, chemical safety protocols, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
- Read and interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Maintain operational logs, maintenance records, and inventory.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to maximize system reliability and performance.
Qualifications
- 2 years of industrial operations, maintenance, or water treatment experience.
- Experience with Ultrapure Water (UPW), Reverse Osmosis (RO), Ion Exchange, filtration systems, or industrial wastewater treatment.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment and instrumentation.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or cleanroom environment.
- Knowledge of water chemistry and process monitoring.
- Familiarity with LOTO procedures, chemical handling, and safety regulations.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs and technical drawings.
