Senior/ Principal Consultant – T&D, Substation & Power Grid Modernization

Location: RiNo, Denver

Schedule: 4 days in-office, 1-day WFH

Start Date: August 2026

Base Salary: 52,500- 60,000 uncapped commission

The Opportunity

Spencer Ogden’s Denver office is continuing to grow, and we are looking for an experienced, commercially minded recruiter to help build out a market across Transmission & Distribution, Substation, Power Grid Modernization and wider Power Infrastructure.

This is a high-growth opportunity within our established Energy & Infrastructure division. The team currently has a strong presence across Solar, but there is a clear opportunity to expand into T&D and grid-related markets, with existing client relationships, live opportunities, and a strong leadership team already in place.

You will be working closely with a high-performing Denver team to develop new accounts, build candidate networks, and establish a long-term desk in one of the most active energy markets in the U.S.

We are looking for people who understand recruitment, business development, sales activity, client ownership, and the resilience needed to build a market properly.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be responsible for building and growing a 360-recruitment desk across T&D, Substation, Power Grid Modernization and Power Infrastructure.

Day to day, you will:

• Develop new client relationships across utilities, EPCs, developers, engineering firms and infrastructure businesses
• Build out a client base through cold outreach, meetings, market mapping and consistent business development
• Work live roles across technical, engineering, project delivery and commercial positions
• Source, engage and manage specialist candidates across the power and infrastructure space
• Partner with clients to understand hiring needs, project pipelines and team buildouts
• Manage the full recruitment process from initial outreach through to offer, close and aftercare
• Help establish a new market within an already successful Denver office
• Work closely with leadership to identify key accounts, target clients and long-term growth opportunities

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for people who are confident picking up the phone, proactive with business development, and motivated by building something from the ground up.

You could be a good fit if you have:

• Recruitment experience, ideally 1 year
• Experience in a 360-recruitment role, or strong sales/business development experience
• A track record of winning clients, developing accounts or building commercial relationships
• Confidence with cold calling, lead generation and market mapping
• A genuine interest in energy, infrastructure, renewables or engineering markets
• A resilient, competitive and self-motivated approach
• The ability to work in a fast-paced sales environment
• A desire to grow with a team and potentially step into leadership as the market develops

Experience in Energy, Renewables, Power, Engineering, Construction, Infrastructure, T&D, Substation or Utilities recruitment would be highly beneficial, but market experience is not essential if you have strong recruitment fundamentals and a genuine appetite for business development.
