We are seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join a growing infrastructure and environmental engineering team in Fort Collins, Colorado.
This position is ideal for a technically strong geotechnical professional who enjoys working on complex infrastructure, geohazard, and geo-civil engineering projects while also taking responsibility for project management, client relationships, and the development of junior engineers.
You will work across a diverse portfolio of projects and have the opportunity to contribute both technically and commercially as the team continues to grow.
Responsibilities
- Perform and oversee complex geotechnical engineering analyses and design
- Conduct slope stability analyses
- Perform infiltration and seepage analyses
- Complete deformation analyses
- Evaluate heave and settlement
- Provide geo-civil engineering analysis and design
- Support geohazard assessments and infrastructure projects
- Assist with construction defect investigations
- Support construction management activities
- Manage and coordinate project deliverables, schedules, and budgets
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to junior engineers
- Work directly with clients and project stakeholders
- Assist with proposals, scopes of work, and project cost estimates
- Support business development and the development of existing and new client relationships
- Provide technical support across other engineering market sectors as required
Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline
- M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering
- Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- PE licensure in additional Southwestern states is advantageous
- Approximately 10 years of relevant professional experience
- Strong background in geotechnical engineering, infrastructure design, and geohazard analysis
- Experience managing projects and working directly with clients
- Ability to mentor and provide technical oversight to less experienced engineers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Interest in supporting business development and building long-term client relationships
Preferred Experience
Experience in any of the following would be particularly valuable:
- Construction defect investigations
- Forensic geotechnical engineering
- Litigation support
- Depositions
- Expert witness or trial testimony
- Business development and proposal preparation
