Equipment Operator

Purpose

This role will be focused on running equipment in our bindery department but there will be cross training that will be part of the training plan that will allow the person hired to learn skills to work across the production area.  This allows a person to work in multiple areas to help with customer volume and deadlines each day.  There will be a good variety of work to not get bored and to be able to contribute in several ways to help customers and help the business be successful.

Responsibilities

• Set up machines and equipment before production runs, ensuring that they are calibrated and functioning properly.
• Monitor machines during production runs, checking for any issues or malfunctions and adjusting as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with machines and equipment and make repairs or escalate issues as necessary.
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for themselves and other workers.
• Follow production schedules and workflows to ensure that production runs smoothly and efficiently.
• Record production data and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to management.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, quality control, and production management, to ensure that products meet customer and industry standards.
• Continuously evaluate and improve machine operations to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Participate in training and development programs to improve their skills and knowledge of machines and equipment.
• Perform primary task as well as other tasks assigned as business requires.

Work Schedules and Arrangements

• Onsite position
• Hourly – Range is $18-$22 per hour depending on experience
• Hours
  • 830am-530 Monday through Friday

Alphagraphics is a commercial printer and sign company.  We also do brand fulfillment company helping customers with creative services, custom ordering portals, ecommerce, branding, kitting and shipping. We brand everything from printed products, signs, promo, swag - if a logo goes on it we produce it. 

The Alphagraphics South Salt Lake location is part of Speedy CPS, who has 17 locations in Idaho, Utah, Wyoming and Montana.  14 locations are AlphaGraphic locations, one is a signs and graphic business called Graphik, in Lindon Utah and a Speedy CPS retail location in Rigby, Idaho.
