Assistant General Manager

Assistant Manager – Alphagraphics Division

The purpose of this role is providing support into daily operational, sales and people management duties, working with the General Manager.  This role is designed to be a backup for the General Manager role and to have specific areas of the business that the Assistant Manager will be responsible for.  The Assistant Manager role is a specifically designed role to be on the bench of for the general manager role.  Development and training will be provided to help an individual understand the role of a General Manager and to help them prepare for the role if an opportunity arises at any of the organization’s locations.  Being an Assistant Manager does not guarantee the person to be a General Manager, as this opportunity comes through demonstrating a high level of performance, business understanding and an opening for a General Manager in the organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assistants General Manager with organize daily workflow as the production manager
• Assistants General Manager with track and keep WIP up to date
• Assists with training of location employees
• Ability to run (and train how to run) every machine at a location
• Provide information to prospects and customers about the products and services organizations offer.
• Assistant General Manager with general management at the location.
• Assist in organizing daily workflow as the production process leader.
• Learn and be familiar with the financials of the location.
• Help in tracking and keeping the WIP up to date.
• Collaborate with other departments, to ensure that production runs smoothly, and that product quality meets customer and industry standards.
• Assistant in employee training.
• Learn all functions of the business.
• Assists in managing and directing workforce to achieve sales and profit goals.
• Provide information to prospects and customers about the products and services the organization offers through all brand offerings.
• Help manager and/or supervisor to implement production schedules and workflows to ensure timely delivery of products.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of production activities and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to management.
• Key role is helping location have a Redo rate of 1% or less of sales. 
• Participate in and conduct root cause analysis on Redo’s, both internal and external, anything over $250.
• Reinforce company policies, standard operating procedures, and best practices.
• Collaborate with other departments to maintain smooth handoffs and coordinated workflow.
• Support continuous improvement efforts aimed at reducing waste, improving output, and driving cost efficiency.

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Be able to take care of customer/order overrides as necessary
• Assist with inventory control related to building maintenance and customer order materials
• Assistants General Manager with operational processes
• Builds strong partnerships with employees in the location.
• Helps support and oversee employee satisfaction and morale
• Ensure employee communication is taking place, team is on the same page, understands what is happening in the organization and at the location
• Be familiar with location financials and budgeting process – Assist with expense control and activities that drive profitability

Work Schedules and Arrangements

• Onsite position
• Hourly or salaried, depending on the specific need and responsibilities.  Salary depends on experience and responsiblities.

  • 800am-530 Monday through Friday
