Responsibilities
- Safely operate various delivery vehicles, including box trucks and
drivers, following all traffic laws and safety protocols - Load and unload packages efficiently using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual lifting techniques
- Plan and execute delivery routes to maximize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries
- Verify delivery details, obtain signatures when required, and document all transactions accurately
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine inspections to ensure optimal operation
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route changes, delays, or issues encountered on the road
Skills
- Proven experience in delivery driving or courier roles with a focus on route driving and load management
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle inquiries politely and professionally
- Warehouse experience is advantageous for understanding loading/unloading procedures
- Ability to operate commercial vehicles such as box trucks with manual transmission if applicable
- Physical strength for heavy lifting, moving packages, and handling equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks
- Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy lifting, moving, and vehicle operation
- Valid driver’s license suitable for commercial driving requirements; clean driving record preferred
