Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations and ensure the integrity of financial records. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who excels in accounting and is ready for the next step in their career. The Accounting Manager will play a key role in maintaining financial controls, supporting reporting functions, and driving continuous improvement in accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including AP, AR, payroll, and GL
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly close activities
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements
- Maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and GAAP
- Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts
- Coordinate and support audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency
- Manage and mentor junior accounting staff; promote professional development
- Support senior management with financial reports, analysis, and special projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or progress toward CPA preferred)
- 5 plus years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Intacct) and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience in a mid-sized or growth-oriented organization preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
