About the Role:
An established, high-performing investment management firm is seeking a sharp, detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join its lean, collaborative team. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of fund operations and accounting across a variety of private capital strategies. You’ll work closely with leadership across finance, operations, compliance, and the front office, playing a critical role in both day-to-day execution and strategic projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee accounting and operational workflows for multiple investment funds
Manage monthly fund close and reporting cycles
Prepare and distribute quarterly investor statements
Calculate management and performance fees in accordance with fund documents
Assist with investor communications and deliverables
Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors on annual audits and filings
Support the Controller and COO on cross-functional and ad hoc initiatives
Partner with the Chief Compliance Officer on select regulatory reporting requirements
What You Bring:
Advanced proficiency in Excel, including complex formulas and modeling
Experience with fund accounting platforms (FIS Investran or similar systems)
At least five years of experience in fund accounting, operations, or tax at a private equity, venture capital, or other alternative asset firm
Deep understanding of capital calls, distributions, partnership accounting, and investor allocations
CPA designation preferred
Solid grasp of GAAP as applied to investment funds, especially capital account allocations
