SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTION:
As Lead Maintenance Technician, this position involves all aspects of routine and preventative maintenance for all Spectrum properties; responsible for performing all necessary facility maintenance to insure the safety and comfort of all staff and consumers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned by CFO
- Self motivated and able to perform autonomously across multiple sites
- Perform full life-cycle carpentry, including coordinating projects in conjunction with CFO from planning through completion
- Complete grounds work as directed by Facilities Manager which may include picking up trash,sweeping curb and dumpster areas and maintaining landscaping beds and other areas
- Responsible for alerting the CFO of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that have taken place or that may occur
- Maintain a professional courteous manner with all clients, landlords, vendors, contractors, and fellow employees.
- Repair interior surfaces of all kinds as needed
- Ability to assist or help coordinate office furniture or equipment installation
- Perform minor electrical repairs and installations
- Monitor and maintain basic plumbing operations
- Monitor and/or maintain lighting systems at all locations
- Quality check equipment regularly to ensure everything is in working order
- Read blueprints and survey structures on grounds
- Create inspection and repair schedules in order to provide ongoing maintenance
- Perform light landscaping and groundskeeping work as needed
- Train employees on proper equipment usage
- Assist in on-the-job-training of newly hired maintenance technicians
- Basic computer skills to document tasks and communicate
- Act as on-call handyman when needed
- Assist as needed or possible for additional requests from departement/program management, if needed
- Drive frequently (daily basis) from various site locations/vendor locations using personal vehicle
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma / GED
EXPERIENCE:
- Working experience and knowledge with lighting systems, plumbing systems, and general interior carpentry; general working knowledge of maintenance tasks. Must have advanced working knowledge of all building systems to include electrical, plumbing supply and waste.
- Must have advanced working knowledge of carpentry to include experience with hand and power tools.
- Prefer 3 years experience in maintenance field.
- Must possess a valid NYS Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
COMPENSATION: $31.00/hr - $35.00/hr
