Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Pinehurst, NC, for an Ophthalmic Technician. The Ophthalmic Technician will perform clinical tasks such as assisting optometrists during patient examinations, conducting diagnostic testing including fundus photography and visual exams, and documenting patient information as a scribe. Additional daily responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, educating patients regarding procedures, and maintaining high standards of care.
Qualifications
- Knowledge in Ophthalmology and Optometry to support clinical tasks and patient care
- Proficiency in Diagnostic Skills such as Fundus Photography and other diagnostic procedures
- Experience with Scribe responsibilities, including accurately documenting medical records
- Understanding of basic medical principles related to vision and eye health
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) credentials are a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education or training related to eye care preferred
