Carolina Eye Associates is seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Ophthalmic Photographer to join our clinical team. The Ophthalmic Photographer is responsible for obtaining high-quality diagnostic images that assist physicians in diagnosing and managing eye diseases. The ideal candidate is compassionate, technically skilled, and committed to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced ophthalmology practice.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality ophthalmic imaging and diagnostic testing, including:
  • Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
  • Fundus Photography
  • Fluorescein Angiography (FA)
  • Indocyanine Green Angiography (ICG)
  • Fundus Autofluorescence (FAF)
  • External Photography
  • Corneal Topography
  • Optical Biometry (IOL Master/Lenstar)
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the testing process and answering questions.
  • Administer ophthalmic drops as directed for pupil dilation and diagnostic testing.
  • Ensure patient comfort while obtaining accurate, high-quality images.
  • Review images for quality and repeat testing when necessary.
  • Upload and document images accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Collaborate with ophthalmologists and clinical staff to support patient care.
  • Clean, calibrate, and maintain ophthalmic imaging equipment.
  • Follow all HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control guidelines.
  • Assist with additional clinical duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous ophthalmic photography, ophthalmic assisting, ophthalmology, optometry, or healthcare experience preferred.
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) preferred but not required.
  • Experience with ophthalmic imaging equipment and EMR systems is preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and technical aptitude.
  • Strong communication and patient service skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday
