What are the responsibilities and job description for the PE/APE Teacher position at Spectrum Academy - Pleasant Grove?
Spectrum Academy is the premiere charter school designed to education children with autism. Our classrooms are a hybrid of a mainstream and a resource classroom. All teachers are expected to work with children who have IEPs, providing them appropriate accommodations and supports to ensure they are as successful as possible.
- Implements the assigned program of study.
- Fosters a classroom climate conducive to learning.
- Utilizes instructional management systems that increase student learning and maximize time on task.
- Develops and implements Individual Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with school Policy.
- Monitor student progress towards achieving instructional objectives and goals on the IEPs.
- Communicates effectively within the educational community and with parents on a regular basis.
- Meets professional responsibilities.
- Maintains and upgrades professional skills.
- Maintains professional work habits.
- Promotes and maintains positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships.
- Adheres to the teacher code of conduct.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned by the Principal and the Special Education Director.
Applicant must have a Secondary Health AND Physical Education Endorsement. Preference will be given to applicants who are dual certified with an Adaptive PE Endorsement as well.
