📌 Job Title: Business Analyst (Data Analytics)

📍 Location: Oakland, CA / Dublin, CA (Hybrid)

🕒 Duration: 12 Months Contract

🚀 About the Role

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Business Analyst with strong expertise in data analytics, SQL, Power BI, and Excel. This role involves working with large datasets, building insightful reports, and delivering data-driven recommendations to support business and operational decisions.

This is a primarily remote role with onsite presence required 4–5 times per month in Oakland or Dublin, CA.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

• Analyze complex datasets and develop customized reports and dashboards
• Build and enhance Power BI dashboards to track KPIs and business performance
• Write and optimize advanced SQL queries for data extraction and analysis
• Perform predictive and what-if analysis to support strategic decisions
• Develop and maintain metrics, KPIs, and analytical models
• Present findings and actionable insights to stakeholders and leadership
• Manage small to mid-size projects and ensure timely delivery
• Support regulatory filings and reporting using large-scale customer and financial data
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives

🧠 Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in Business Analysis / Data Analytics
• Strong expertise in:
• SQL (advanced level)
• Power BI (dashboarding, data modeling, DAX)
• Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, Lookups, Data Analysis)
• Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence tools
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work with large datasets and multiple data sources
• Experience managing projects and working with stakeholders

⚡ Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the utility or energy industry (highly preferred)
• Knowledge of regulatory reporting and financial/customer data analysis
• Familiarity with tools such as SAS, Business Objects, Power Automate
• Experience in market research, KPI tracking, and operational analytics
• MBA or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field

🎓 Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field (required)
• Master’s/MBA (preferred)

📍 Additional Details

• Candidates must be local to the Bay Area or willing to relocate
• Hybrid role with 4–5 onsite visits per month
• Client laptop will be provided (personal phone required)
