Title: Payroll Administrator
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Duration: 4 months assignment with possible extensions
Work Environment: Onsite
Schedule: 40 hours/week
Responsibilities:
- Full-Cycle Processing: Execute the complete weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles for union, administrative, and Board personnel.
- Union Compliance: Calculate complex pay scenarios including prevailing wages, union dues, pension contributions, and health/welfare deductions in accordance with CBAs.
- Data Validation: Retrieve and validate hours from accounting systems and import them into payroll software; analyze corrections, status changes, and insurance premiums prior to transmission.
- Leave Management: Manage time banks, sick leave, floating vacations, and vacation pay payouts.
- Audit & Compliance: Participate in SOX compliance management, internal audits, and the year-end process (including tax filings and employment records).
- Court-Ordered Deductions: Process garnishments, tax levies, and other deductions in strict compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Stakeholder Support: Use Case Management systems to track and resolve payroll inquiries for all employees while working closely with HR, Tax, and General Ledger teams.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience in full-cycle payroll administration, specifically within a unionized environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll dependencies (HR, Tax, GL) and experience with HRIS records management.
- Regulatory Expertise: Knowledge of federal and state labor laws, garnishment regulations, and Statistics Canada/US reporting requirements.
- Skills: Advanced data entry and accounting system reconciliation.
