Job Title: IT Senior Project Manager
Location: Columbia, SC (I-20 @ Alpine Road)
Work Arrangement: Partial Onsite – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday onsite (and as needed)
Contract Duration: 11 months with possible extension
Hours: 40 hours per week | 8 hours per day
Screening: Credit check required (Information Systems category)
Must haves: Strong IT project management experience with MS Project, Agile/Waterfall expertise, excellent communication, budgeting and client-facing skills, and active PM certifications (PMP/CAPM/Scrum/SAFe), with ability to lead multiple concurrent projects onsite Tue–Thu
Position Overview
The IT Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall coordination, status reporting, and stability of multiple project-oriented work efforts. This role manages medium-scale projects with moderate complexity, ensuring on-time delivery, adherence to budgeted hours, quality standards, and ISSM methodology. The IT Senior PM leads projects through the full lifecycle—from inception through final business acceptance and implementation—while managing resources, mitigating risks, and communicating across technical and business teams.

Core Functions
- Client Relationship Management: Primary contact for key accounts, ensuring consistent and proactive communication.
- Issue Resolution & Escalation: Troubleshoot and resolve client issues promptly while coordinating with internal teams.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, operations, and support teams to advocate for client needs and drive strategic initiatives.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the overall stability of project work efforts.
- Oversee multiple moderate-scale projects simultaneously with varying levels of scope and system impact.
- Adhere to project management methodologies, ensuring projects meet schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
- Monitor project plans, assignments, and work efforts daily.
- Assign resources appropriately and escalate issues related to timeline, quality, or functionality.
- Track key milestones and adjust plans as needed.
- Lead projects from initiation to final implementation and business acceptance.
Detailed Responsibilities
25% – Planning & Documentation
- Develop and monitor project plans, risk management plans, and documentation from scope through post-implementation.
- Ensure documentation and deliverables are complete, within scope, and compliant with ISSM standards.
20% – Scope, Budget & Resource Management
- Identify items impacting scope, budget, risk, or resources.
- Monitor and assign resource needs.
- Manage project hours and budget allocation.
20% – Project Communications
- Develop and maintain clear and effective communication across all project stakeholders.
- Facilitate meetings, status reports, project documentation, and correspondence.
20% – Issue Identification & Resolution
- Assess issues affecting project scope or resource requirements.
- Manage issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
- Communicate scope changes and impacts to senior management.
15% – Audit & Compliance
- Ensure all project documentation meets required audit standards using ISSM methodology.

Required Education & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree — OR
- 4 years of job-related work experience — OR
- 2 years of job-related experience Associate’s degree.
Work Experience
- 5 years of IT experience in a leadership capacity, including leading two or more concurrent project teams.
- Completion of the client’s Project Management Training Program may substitute for one year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Project Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- PMP Certification (Preferred).
