Engineer - Powertrain Transmission Calibration Engineer 12 Months Auburn hills, MI Job summary Automatic Transmission Development & Validation Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is responsible for the design, development, testing, and validation of automatic transmission systems. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in powertrain engineering and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment focused on delivering high-quality vehicle performance and durability. Key Responsibilities Lead development and validation activities for automatic transmission systems. Design and develop components aligned to performance, durability, and functional requirements. Plan and execute validation testing, including test plans, bill of materials (BOM), and test schedules. Support test cell setup, instrumentation, debugging, and execution of validation programs. Perform root cause analysis of test issues, failures, and stoppages; drive corrective actions. Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, software, calibration, thermal management, and engine engineering teams. Analyze test data and generate validation reports with actionable recommendations. Lead post-test inspection activities and documentation of results. Manage multiple projects, timelines, and deliverables effectively. The ideal candidate will have experience with data acquisition and calibration tools including, but not limited to: ETAS INCA Vector CANalyzer Experience: 3–5 years is the target experience range. Key Qualifications The ideal candidate should have experience with automotive development, validation, testing, design, or release activities related to: Automatic transmissions Engines Four-wheel drive systems Similar powertrain-related systems Preferred Experience ETAS INCA Vector CANalyzer Ability To Drive and test prototype, mule, and test vehicles on a frequent basis. Work in a hands-on vehicle development and testing environment. Travel Requirements Expected travel: 0–20% Candidates should be able to travel freely between: United States and Canada United States and Mexico Travel may be required on short notice to support vehicle assembly plants and testing activities.
