Position Summary
SpeciCare is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented healthcare professional to serve in a dual-role position supporting both patient care and clinical research coordination. This role functions as a key coordinator across patient care, clinical operations, and research activities, working closely with and reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer. The majority of time will be focused on patient care and coordination, with approximately 10–15 hours per week dedicated to clinical research responsibilities. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring a seamless experience for patients while maintaining compliance and accuracy across clinical and research workflows. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to build trust quickly, along with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and providers in both verbal and written formats.
Patient Care & Coordination (Primary Focus)
· Provide information, guidance, and support to patients, caregivers, and customers with a caring and compassionate approach
· Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, and internal teams
· Manage high volumes of patient interactions while building strong relationships
· Communicate clearly and professionally with patients and providers via phone and email
· Coordinate and follow up on patient kits, appointments, and communications
· Meet with patients and/or families for consent, delivery, and support as needed
· Ensure timely transmission of reports and updates
· Maintain accurate documentation and patient records within Salesforce
· Obtain medical records from external providers
· Escalate patient concerns to leadership as needed
· Assist with tissue collections at affiliated hospitals
· Provide weekly patient updates to the Chief Medical Officer
· Work onsite consistently during scheduled hours
Clinical Research Coordination (10–15 hours/week)
· Coordinate clinical trial activities from enrollment through completion
· Screen and enroll study participants
· Obtain informed consent per protocol
· Maintain accurate study data and documentation
· Ensure compliance with FDA, GCP, and IRB guidelines
· Assist with audits and study-related documentation
Clinical / Phlebotomy Duties
· Perform blood draws as needed
· Coordinate specimen collection and cryopreservation of samples
· Assist with collection, processing, and preservation of tissue samples
· Label, log, and track specimens accurately
· Maintain chain-of-custody documentation
· Coordinate with clinical and lab teams
· Follow proper safety and handling protocols
· Assist with basic clinical procedures as needed
Qualifications
· Certified Medical Assistant, LPN, or similar healthcare certification required
· Minimum of 1 year clinical experience required
· Experience in patient coordination, clinical research, or healthcare operations strongly preferred
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
· Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
