Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Dispatcher to coordinate the efficient movement of our fleet and ensure seamless communication between drivers, clients, and operations. This vital role involves managing transportation schedules, utilizing advanced vehicle dispatch software, and maintaining clear internal communication to uphold safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Coordinate daily dispatching of vehicles using transportation management systems and vehicle dispatch software to meet client needs efficiently.
- Monitor GPS data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure timely deliveries or pickups.
- Communicate with drivers, ensuring clear instructions and updates while managing phone call volume professionally.
- Maintain accurate data entry related to routing and gps systems.
- Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Collaborate with internal teams through effective communication channels to resolve issues promptly and improve logistics workflows.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries via phone calls with proper phone etiquette while managing details efficiently.
Experience
- Proven experience in transportation planning, logistics, or dispatching roles within road transportation operations.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), vehicle dispatch software, and fleet management tools
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask across multiple lines of communication in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of, GPS technology, DOT regulations, and supply chain principles is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Outlook for reporting and communication purposes.
- Excellent analysis skills for route optimization, problem-solving, and operational efficiency improvements.
- Prior experience is a plus
