Location: Milford, CT
Job Type: Full-time, in-person
Pay: $18.00 per hour up to $100 weekly performance bonus
Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 40 hours per week
Training: Paid training provided
About the Position
We are a growing auto transportation company looking for a dependable, fast-moving dispatcher to manage daily freight for our trucks.
This is an in-house position focused specifically on our company's trucks. You will not be managing dozens of outside carriers or accounts.
The right person will be organized, comfortable working quickly, confident speaking with brokers and customers, and able to make good routing decisions throughout the day.
Auto transport dispatching experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person who is motivated, good with computers, communicates well, and can learn quickly.
Responsibilities
- Search for vehicle transport loads using Central Dispatch and other load boards
- Build efficient routes for multiple car-hauling trucks
- Call brokers, dealerships, auctions, and customers
- Negotiate rates when appropriate
- Book loads and confirm pickup and delivery information
- Assign loads using Super Dispatch
- Monitor drivers throughout the day
- Coordinate pickup and delivery schedules
- Minimize deadhead miles and unnecessary downtime
- Keep truck schedules organized
- Maintain accurate load information and documentation
- Communicate with drivers regarding delays, problems, route changes, or customer issues
- Help maintain weekly truck revenue goals
- Track upcoming freight so drivers are not waiting for their next load
- Assist with basic administrative and transportation-related tasks when needed
Performance Goals
This position includes a weekly performance bonus based on factors including:
- Truck revenue
- Efficient routing
- Low deadhead
- Keeping trucks consistently loaded
- Timely communication
- Accurate load information
- Avoiding preventable delays or missed pickups
- Overall dispatch performance
The weekly performance bonus can be up to $100 per week.

Compensation
$18.00/hour
Plus:
Up to $100 weekly performance bonus
A full 40-hour week at $18/hour is $720. With the full weekly bonus, total weekly compensation can reach approximately $820 per week.
Work Environment
This is an in-person position in Milford, Connecticut Area
You will work directly with the owner and drivers and receive hands-on training in auto transport dispatching, route planning, load selection, Central Dispatch, and Super Dispatch.
This position may be a strong fit for someone who wants to learn transportation operations and grow with a small company as additional trucks are added.
