We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Surgical Coordinator to join our fast-paced, high-volume surgical practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the surgical scheduling process, ensuring seamless coordination between patients, surgeons, hospitals, and insurance providers. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of surgical workflows, and the ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule all surgical procedures.
- Communicate surgery details and pre-operative instructions clearly to patients and their families.
- Obtain necessary medical clearances, lab work, imaging, and other documentation prior to surgery.
- Liaise with hospitals and surgical centers.
- Maintain accurate records of all scheduled procedures in the EMR and/or scheduling system.
- Handle last-minute schedule changes or cancellations efficiently, keeping all stakeholders informed.
- Work collaboratively with front office, billing, and clinical staff to support patient care continuity.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years of experience in a surgical coordinator, medical scheduling.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, surgical procedures, and insurance processes.
- Proficiency in EMR systems (e.g., Epic, eClinicalWorks, Athena) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour
