What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operator, Die Cutter - 2nd shift position at Specialty Print Communications?
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Die Cutter Operator to join our production team. This role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining Brausse and Heidelberg sheet-fed die cutting machines to produce high-quality printed materials according to customer specifications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate die cutting equipment for cutting, creasing, perforating, and stripping operations
- Perform make-readies efficiently and ensure tooling is properly installed and maintained
- Monitor machine performance and product quality throughout production runs
- Inspect finished products to ensure adherence to quality standards and customer requirements
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform minor repairs or adjustments as needed
- Maintain accurate production records and logs
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures
- Keep work area clean and organized
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience operating Brausse or similar die cutting machines
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of die cutting processes
- Ability to read and interpret sheet lay-outs and job specifications
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment
- Basic math and measurement skills (e.g., tape measure to 1/16")
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Skills:
- Experience with folding carton production
- Knowledge of nicking patterns, rubbering techniques, and matrix setup
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
