Overview:
As a Sales Support Representative (SSR) at SpecialMade, you will be an essential part of our team, supporting growth initiatives and ensuring our customers’ success. Your role will involve engaging with existing customers, assisting with business development efforts, and managing key administrative functions such as custom quoting, order processing, and web offering product uploads. You will be a key connection between SpecialMade’s internal teams and our customers, ensuring smooth interactions and an exceptional experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support for Sales & Business Development Team (40%):
- Team Collaboration: Work alongside the Sales Manager and other team members to execute internal sales initiatives, track progress, and contribute new ideas to drive business growth.
- Participate in work plan sessions, share updates, and provide recommendations for improving sales results.
- Keep detailed notes and plans for ongoing projects that impact customer sales.
- Administrative Support: Assist with tasks such as product uploads, custom quoting, and CRM updates to ensure customer data is accurate and up to date.
- Process custom quotes and ensure the correct product information is uploaded to systems.
- Support other sales and business development functions as needed, including customer service and order management.
2. Customer Engagement & Business Development (30%):
- Customer Maintenance: Initiate proactive communication with existing customers through phone and email to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is maintained in the CRM system.
- Identify and engage with decision-makers within customer organizations.
- Update CRM with customer data, key contacts, and account activity.
- Sales Planning & Execution: Work with the Sales Manager to develop outreach strategies that promote and increase sales of SpecialMade’s offerings, including replacement parts and custom solutions.
- Collaborate with customers to help them develop programs that focus on selling these products.
- Provide customers with training on how to promote and sell replacement parts and custom solutions.
- Sales & Marketing Support: Educate customers about SpecialMade’s range of products and services, including replacement parts, custom solutions, and 3PL capabilities, and explain how these offerings can support their business growth.
- Share targeted marketing materials such as custom flyers and presentations with customers
- Schedule meetings for Sales Manager and Business Development Rep to present higher level concepts to customer sales teams and executives.
- Track customer interactions and sales progress through CRM.
3. Customer Service Support (30%):
- Assist Customer Service: Support the Customer Service team during busy periods, covering phone calls, emails, EDI orders, and returns.
- Help maintain smooth customer interactions by addressing inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with other Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) to ensure comprehensive coverage during peak times.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Experience: Demonstrated success in an inside sales or tele-sales position where the majority of time during the day was spent working with customers and vendors over the phone.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers.
- Proficiency with CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to analyze sales data, create reports, and identify trends in customer performance.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
