Our client, a well-established and growing mechanical contractor, is seeking an experienced Industrial Project Manager to join their team in Cedar Rapids, IA. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in industrial piping and mechanical construction who enjoys managing projects from conception through completion while building lasting client relationships.
What You'll Do
- Lead industrial piping and mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, procurement, manpower, subcontractors, and overall project execution.
- Coordinate with engineering, detailing, fabrication, field teams, vendors, and customers to ensure successful project delivery.
- Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction documents.
- Monitor project costs, change orders, and profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Participate in estimating, budgeting, value engineering, and project planning.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout project execution.
- Travel occasionally, including overnight travel, as project needs require.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
- 5 years of Industrial Project Management experience within mechanical or industrial piping construction.
- Strong understanding of industrial construction practices and project management principles.
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and customer relationships.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, contracts, and specifications.
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with construction management, estimating, and accounting software.
- Valid driver's license.
