We are partnering with a well-established environmental services organization seeking a Project Manager / Estimator to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in environmental construction, stormwater, wastewater, utilities, excavation, civil construction, or a related industry who enjoys both managing projects and developing client relationships.
You will be managing project opportunities from initial customer contact through estimating, proposal development, and successful project execution. The business development component centers on identifying opportunities, responding to bids and RFPs, and winning new projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop estimates, proposals, bids, and RFP responses for environmental service projects.
- Meet with contractors, municipalities, property managers, engineers, and commercial clients to understand project requirements.
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships that generate repeat business.
- Identify new project opportunities through networking, referrals, and existing customer relationships.
- Coordinate with internal operations teams to develop project scopes, pricing, schedules, and resource requirements.
- Manage projects from initial opportunity through award and successful completion.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate project conditions and gather information for accurate estimating.
- Maintain CRM records, project documentation, and proposal activity.
- Stay current on environmental regulations, stormwater compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade associations, and networking opportunities.
Qualifications
- Experience in construction project management, estimating, business development, or account management within environmental services, stormwater, wastewater, civil construction, utilities, excavation, or a related industry.
- Experience preparing estimates, proposals, bids, or RFP responses.
- Ability to read project specifications, understand scopes of work, and coordinate with operations teams.
- Experience using CRM software and Microsoft Office.
- Comfortable traveling throughout the Portland metro area for customer meetings and site visits.
