Job Overview: Civil Engineer / Project Manager – Charlotte, NC
A leading land development consulting firm is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and experienced Civil Engineer for a Project Manager role in its Charlotte, NC office. Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage project teams
• Oversee project scheduling, budgeting, and delivery
• Produce site plans, construction documents, and engineering calculations
• Coordinate permitting, construction administration, and as-builts
• Present to clients and public audiences as needed
• Support a fast-paced, team-oriented project environment
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Registered P.E. in North Carolina and South Carolina
• Minimum 5 years of experience preferred
• Private-sector experience with builders and developers, particularly in large greenfield and infill single-family residential (SFD, townhomes); experience in multifamily, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use projects is a plus
• Strong design skills in site layout, grading, storm drainage, SCM/stormwater management, erosion control, earthwork balancing, and gravity sewer/water systems; pump station, forcemain, and low-pressure sewer experience a plus
• Experience with Conceptual Design, DD, Construction Documents, permitting, construction administration, and as-builts
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lead or co-manage projects in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines and budgets
• Ability to quickly learn local ordinances and rezoning processes
• Proficiency in Civil 3D 2025 and related software (HydroCad, Hydraflow Hydrograph, Hydraflow Storm Sewer, HEC-RAS, WaterCad)
