What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping & Receiving Handler position at SPECIALIZED PACKAGING SOLUTIONS INC?
- Safe operation of a forklift to effectively and efficiently load/unload trucks, stack, or move raw materials and finished goods to required departments/locations.
- Verify product (both shipped and received) against shipping paperwork to ensure accuracy and quality
- Ensure outgoing product is secured and labelled correctly
- Stage materials received in the appropriate locations
- Prepare, review, and verify shipping documents (bills of lading, packing lists, labels, etc.) for accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure products are packaged securely and in accordance with customer requirements and quality standards
- May handle scheduling of company trucks to deliver/pick up orders, and work with 3rd party carriers to arrange shipments/deliveries.
- Communicate with internal teams and customers the details and schedules of shipments, as well as any delays or issues that arise.
- Support inventory control activities, including counts and audits, as required.
- May be required to use computer/ERP system
- May also be required to load/unload material onto or from pallets, trays, racks, shelves, etc. by hand.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures and monitor all work processes to maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Other tasks as assigned.
