This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant movement of inbound and outbound products while upholding our highest standards of safety, quality, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Shift Leadership
Supervise, coach, and direct shipping and receiving associates.
Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and ensure proper staffing levels.
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
Shipping & Receiving Operations
Manage inbound receiving: verify purchase orders, inspect product quality, and maintain records.
Oversee outbound shipments: prepare bills of lading, verify orders, and ensure on-time departures.
Ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, HACCP, and OSHA regulations.
Inventory & Documentation
Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and audits.
Ensure accurate data entry in warehouse management systems.
Manage all shipping and receiving logs, reports, and documentation.
Process & Compliance
Identify and implement efficiency improvements and cost-saving measures.
Enforce safety and sanitation procedures in refrigerated and ambient environments.
Partner with Quality Assurance to maintain food safety standards.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Collaborate with production, purchasing, transportation, and customer service teams.
Communicate effectively with carriers and drivers.
Resolve shipping discrepancies and escalate issues as needed.
Qualifications
3–5 years of supervisory experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations (food distribution or manufacturing preferred).
Knowledge of transportation logistics and warehouse management systems (WMS).
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Working knowledge of HACCP, OSHA, and food safety standards.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and WMS platforms (NetSuite, SAP, or similar).
Ability to thrive in a refrigerated environment (34–38°F).
Work Schedule
Second Shift (evening hours).
Flexibility for extended hours, weekends, or holidays during peak demand.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
Comfortable working in refrigerated conditions.
