Specialized Manufacturing has been in operation since 1996. Since then, we’ve grown to fill a 33,000 square foot facility with 65 employees. We build and manufacture custom cable/wire harnesses, cnc metal machined parts, and electro-mechanical assemblies. We typically work in the aerospace industry. In 70% of what we do is in the aerospace industry. While the remaining 30% is split up between the agricultural, medical, and automotive industries

Overview:
We are seeking an ambitious and high-performing full-time Sheet Metal Technician to become an integral part of our metal division! Our ideal candidate is responsible and dependable, able to multitask and complete tasks in a timely manner, hard-working, and willing to learn new tasks and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate Amada Fiber laser, turret punch, press brakes, and spot-welder, to manufacture tools, equipment, and other components from sheet metal or metal plates.
- Feed material or parts to machines
- Ensure that there are sufficient raw materials available.
- Monitor the quality of parts produced by the various machines.
- Measure and align materials to be used.
- Read and understand blueprints, drawings, etc.
- Use hand tools and other auxiliary tools as needed to perform job duties.
- Inspect products, evaluating finished pieces for compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Always maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform other duties as required by supervisor or manager to improve the overall operation.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Ability to safely and effectively operate or learn to operate machinery.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Good understanding of calibrations and measurement techniques
- Good understanding of precision measuring instruments
- Able to read a 2D drawing and calculate distances and areas using tables and measurements (Basic Calc & Math skills)
- Able to perform basic mathematical calculations (Add, Subtract, multiply etc.)
- Able to read and understand blueprints, drawings etc.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in metal fabrication or related work preferred, but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying materials.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
Salary : $16 - $18
