What are the responsibilities and job description for the Metal Fabricator position at Metal Breath Industries?
We are seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our team! Metal Breath Industries has been operating since 2016 and specializes in quality steel fabrication. We fabricate custom railings, staircases, gates, structural steel and more for commercial and residential customers. We are looking for a hardworking, energetic individual that is seeking long-term employment with promising opportunities to move into a management role. This position is for a well-rounded individual to work in the shop and out in the field for installs. Position is a full-time dayshift, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Manufacture and fabricate finished metal products
- Install and repair various metal components based on project requirements such as railings, staircases, and structural steel.
- MIG and TIG various steel such as stainless steel and aluminum.
- Read and interpret blueprints to meet product specifications
- Calculate material measurements to verify specifications
- Conduct tests to evaluate weld quality and tolerance
- Cuts metal to specific dimensions, using thermal-cutting equipment such as flame-cutting torches or plasma-arc equipment.
- Operates forklifts, power lifts and small cranes.
- Operates hand and power tools.
Key Skills:
- Minimum of one (1) years recent experience in welding, manufacturing, or other related fields
- Minimum of one (1) years recent experience of TIG, MIG and stick welding
- Must have experience in welding stainless steel, aluminum or mild steel
- Deburring manually and mechanically (grinder)
- Operate forklift, scissor lift, boom lift and hand lift
- Blueprint reading
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with welding tools and procedures
- Able to read and interpret engineering blueprints and schematics
- Read and use tape measure to precisely measure for tasks like cutting materials, installing fixtures, or setting out structures
- Basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry and algebra
- Ability to handle physical workload independently and collaboratively
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Pass drug screening/background check
- English language (written/oral)
- Punctual
Pay Rate and Benefits :
Based on experience and weld test results. Paid Time Off Benefits (up to 40 hours) after 1 year of employment for full time employees.
Welder testing and requirement:
Must bring own gear to perform welding test I.E. welding hood, welding gloves, welding jacket/sleeves. Safety glasses and ear plugs will be supplied.
