Role Description
The Sales Representative is responsible for developing new business, growing existing accounts, and owning sales activity within an assigned territory. This role requires consistent outbound effort, jobsite and office visits, strong follow-up, and accurate CRM usage. Success in this role comes from discipline, curiosity, and a genuine interest in the construction industry. Additional tasks include providing tailored product knowledge, preparing sales reports, and collaborating with team members to optimize sales strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer & Relationship Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, and distributors by understanding their needs and providing practical, value-driven solutions.
- New Business Development
- Actively prospect for new customers and project opportunities through outbound calls, jobsite visits, referrals, multiple 3rd party online services, and industry networking.
- Field Sales Execution
- Spend significant time in the field visiting jobsites and contractor offices, to uncover opportunities and strengthen relationships.
- CRM & Sales Activity Management
- Accurately document customer interactions, opportunities, follow-ups, and next steps in the CRM to maintain visibility and accountability.
- Sales Follow-Up & Pipeline Ownership
- Manage active quotes and opportunities, ensuring timely follow-up from bid phase through award and fulfillment.
- Customer Service & Problem Solving
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries, coordinate internally to resolve issues, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Market & Industry Engagement
- Participate in trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities to represent Specialized Building Systems LLC and expand market presence.
- Goal Ownership
- Take full responsibility for meeting and exceeding sales targets by adapting strategies to market conditions and customer feedback.
Qualifications
- Sales Experience- Proven experience in B2B sales; construction or building materials industry experience strongly preferred.
- Self-Motivated & Accountable- Highly driven, accountable, organized, and comfortable working independently while owning results.
- Strong Communication Skills- Professional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build trust and credibility with customers.
- Organizational & Time Management Skills- Ability to manage multiple priorities, opportunities, and follow-ups in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-Solving Ability- Comfortable thinking on your feet and finding solutions for customers.
- Technology Proficiency- Comfortable using CRM systems and sales tools to manage activity and opportunities.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)- A plus but not required.
