What you would do

Typical responsibilities could include:

• Inspecting construction activities, materials and workmanship against approved plans, specifications and regulatory codes
• Conducting site inspections and preparing inspection reports documenting compliance or non-compliance with project standards
• Verifying that construction sequencing follows approved schedules and that safety protocols are consistently implemented
• Coordinating with project managers, engineers and contractors to identify and resolve quality and safety discrepancies
• Documenting field observations, taking photographs and maintaining inspection records for project files and regulatory submissions
• Ensuring adherence to OSHA, local building codes, and other applicable safety and quality regulations
• Communicating inspection findings to project leadership and stakeholders in a timely manner

What you could bring

Most roles of this type require the following:

• 5 to 10 years of on-site construction inspection or quality assurance experience
• Hands-on knowledge of construction methods, materials and sequencing in civil or building construction
• Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations and quality standards applicable to New York construction projects
• Experience reading and interpreting construction documents, plans and specifications
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar design software for plan review
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for site reporting and stakeholder coordination
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field experience
• Authorization to work in the United States

Nice-to-have qualifications could include professional certifications (such as CCPI or similar inspection credentials), experience with construction management software, or advanced project scheduling knowledge.
