Looking for a meaningful way to gain experience while giving back to the community?
We’re looking for student volunteers to assist with the Strong Minds station at the Special Olympics New York Capital District Summer Classic! This station focuses on emotional wellness, stress management, and positive coping strategies for athletes.
Date: Sunday, April 26, 2026
Time: 8:00am-10:30am
Location: Shenendehowa High School East (Clifton Park, NY)
What you'll do:
• Engage with Special Olympics athletes through fun and interactive wellness activities
• Help promote stress management and positive mindset strategies
• Support athletes in learning healthy coping techniques
• Gain hands-on experience in psychology, public health, education, sports science, exercise science, occupational therapy, nursing, or related fields
This is a great opportunity for students interested in health sciences, psychology, education, social work, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or community health to gain real-world experience working with athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
