Position / Title: Solder Technician / Assembler
Hours: Mon-Thurs 7am-4:30 pm, & Friday 7am–11am, with some flexibility
Hourly Rate: Commensurate with Qualifications
Position Summary:
Solder hermetically sealed glass to metal assemblies into housings, header bodies, and other assemblies. Perform testing and quality verification processes. Perform secondary operations and assembly. Clean and inspect complete soldered assemblies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assemble and solder hermetically sealed assemblies to a high quality, high reliability standard.
- Read and understand process instructions, provide feedback to supervisor if revision is necessary
- Perform high dexterity operations in part preparation, inspection, and processing
- Use a microscope for processing, inspection, and process verification
- Solder assemblies using a hot plate, still pot, and pneumatic heater jaw machine
- Clean parts using ultrasonic cleaning machines, vapor degreaser machines, and by hand using chemicals
- Utilize personal protective equipment whenever necessary. This may include Nitrile gloves, heat resistant cotton gloves, wrap-around safety glasses, smocks or lab-coats, and hearing protection
- Perform testing operations that may include a multi-meter, LCR meter, and hermeticity testing machine
- Report defective materials and questionable conditions to department supervisor.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly conditions and follow prescribed safety regulations
- Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED and 1 to 2 years of related soldering manufacturing experience
- Must have a good command of the English language, both written and verbal
- Must have ability to give attention to fine detail
- J-STD-001 certification is a plus (higher rate considered) but is not required
- Good manual dexterity, eyesight, and steady hand-eye coordination
- Must be able to perform tasks while working under a microscope
- Use and be familiar with assembly and measuring tools, interpret visual aids, able to perform simple shop math

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
